Письменный тест IELTS состоит из трех частей – Listening, Reading, Writing. Отдельно сдают устную часть экзамена – Speaking Part.
Мы уже рассматривали Listening Part а также Reading Part. Здесь мы рассмотрим последнюю секцию письменного теста.
Writing Part – третья часть письменного теста IELTS, и она будет разной для Academic Module и General Module. Если вам не понятно последнее, вы можете почитать об этом вот здесь. Но если вам лень туда ходить, я вам так скажу: если вы хотите учиться заграницей, вам нужен Academic Module, а если вы хотите там работать - General Module. Ну, вот и разобрались.
Теперь поговорим о том, что собой представляет письменное задание, и в чем его особенности в Academic Module и General Module.
General Information
- The Writing test is 60 minutes long
- It has two writing tasks of 150 words and 250 words
- You must write your answers using full sentences
- You must write your answers on the answer sheet
- Task 2 contributes twice as much as Task 1 to the Writing score
Key differences relating to Writing

Marking
Certificated IELTS examiners assess your performance on each Writing task. There are four assessment criteria (things which the examiner thinks about when deciding what score to give you):
- Task achievement/response
- Coherence and cohesion
- Lexical resource
- Grammatical range and accuracy
Task achievement (in Task 1) and Task response (in Task 2) assesses how accurately, appropriately and relevantly your response covers the task requirements, using the minimum of 150 words for Task 1 and 250 words for Task 2.
In Task 1 of General Module, Task achievement refers to how well your letter achieves its purpose.
In Task 1 of Academic Module, all the information you require is given in the diagram.
In Task 2 of both General and Academic Module, Task response includes how well you develop your argument in response to the task, giving evidence and examples which may be from your own experience.

Для того чтобы отвечать требованиям по этому параметру, достаточно внимательно читать задание, не откланяться от темы, и ответить на все поставленные в задании вопросы. Важно, конечно, написать нужное количество слов – хорошо, если у вас получится немного больше, чем 150 в первом задании, и больше, чем 250 – во втором.
Рекомендации:
• Научитесь определять на глаз количество слов. Вам некогда будет считать слова во время теста, а за недобор снимаются баллы. Поэтому, вам нужно быть уверенным хотя бы в том, что вы написали достаточно.
• Не отходите от темы, высказывайте свои мысли по существу.
• Что касается Task 1 of General Module (а это будет написание письма), то следите за тем, чтобы был выдержан правильный тон письма. Избегайте разговорных слов и выражений, если это официальное письмо, и наоборот, не используйте официальных штампов в письме другу.
• В Task 1 of Academic Module важно обращать внимание на детали, и иллюстрировать примерами свои утверждения. Также не стоит строить догадок и предположений. Опирайтесь только на ту информацию, которая вам дана в графике, или схеме.
• Пишите разборчиво. Проверяющий не станет усердствовать, разбирая ваш почерк. Просто снимет баллы и всё.
Coherence and cohesion assesses how clear and fluent your writing is, and how you organize ideas and information. It includes giving your ideas in a logical order, and using a range of cohesive devices (for example, linking words, pronouns and conjunctions, etc.) appropriately.

Как видно из таблицы, большое внимание уделяется структуре текста и словам-связкам. Поэтому, при подготовке к тесту, не лишним будет расширить свой запас таких слов.

Не пишите слишком простыми предложениями, старайтесь использовать разнообразные конструкции. Но в то же время, не увлекайтесь слишком длинными предложениями и сложными согласованиями. Рискуете перемудрить с грамматикой, и вас просто не поймут.
