GRAMMAR
Present Perfect – сокращение
“They say, the holy water's watered down and this town's lost its faith”
"Говорят, что святая вода исчерпана и этот город потерял веру"
В данном случае видим сокращение "town's lost". В Present Perfect сокращения образуются путем слияния вспомогательного глагола have/has с подлежащим. Это привычные сокращения в разговорном и неформальном письменном английском языке. Важно то, что сокращения he's/she's/it's могут означать также he is/she is/it is, поэтому важно помнить формулу образования Present Perfect – [подлежащее] + have/has + [глагол в третьей форме (V3 / past participle)].
Future Simple

Future Simple – это будущее простое время в английском языке, которое используется для действий, состояний и ситуаций, которые произойдут в будущем. Также его могут использовать для выражения спонтанных решений, обещаний, угроз, надежд, фактов о будущем. Данное время образуется очень легко с помощью “will” – [подлежащее] + will + [инфинитив без to].
Последовательность событий

Последовательность событий в английском языке чаще всего выражают с помощью трех времен – Past Simple, Past Continuous и Past Perfect. Таким образом описывают, в какой именно момент происходили те или иные действия. Вот например в тексте песни мы видим, что одно событие (I saw your light) прервало другое событие (world was black), однако они оба четко завершены, поэтому в таком случае используем Past Simple + Past Simple для построения предложения. Слово until выступает как граница между этими событиями. Другие примеры такого предложения – “I didn't believe in love until I met you”, “She waited at the station until the train arrived”.
Конструкция с глаголом "want"
"I want you layin' me down"
"Я хочу, чтобы ты укладывала меня"
Данное предложение применяется в поэтическом или романтическом смысле, где используется песенная вариация грамматической структуры – I want + [object] + [present participle (-ing)]. Но почему она песенная? Потому что важно помнить, что с глаголом want мы употребляем инфинитив (to do, to make, to go). Поэтому правильно было бы сказать "I want you to lay me down". - Clay – thick, heavy soil that is soft when wet, and hard when dry or baked, used for making bricks and containers – глина
