Last week the world lost one of me most famous musicians on the previous century. B.B. King was a legend and inspiration for millions. CBS Evening News will help us to remember the life and music of the Blues King.

Interesting information about B.B. King:

His real name is Riley B. King.
King was born to a family of poor sharecroppers on a plantation near the small town of Itta Bena in the Mississippi Delta.
King is a licensed pilot.
King earned 15 Grammy awards, has been inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame, and has received a lifetime achievement award due to his contributions in music.
In 1956, King and his band played 342 shows.
After a fire broke out at a dance club in Arkansas, King ran out of the building forgetting his guitar. He went back in to go get it. He later found out that two men fighting over a woman named Lucille had knocked over a kerosene heater that started the fire, he named the guitar Lucille, “to remind myself never to do anything that foolish.”
He claimed to have fathered over 15 children with many different women.
King served in World War 2
King was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987.

No, but I ain’t no tell them.

I’m sure you’ve heard this phrase before in songs, sitcoms, movies etc. Remember the famous “Ain’t no sunshine when she’s gone”? And I’m also sure you’ve always wondered what this “ain’t” means. Well, it is a slang variant of numerous contractions. Long time ago it used to be a contraction form of “am not” but with time this contraction got a new meaning and people started using it for other forms as well. That’s when it was officially banned from English grammar and settled down among its slang words.

So right now “ain’t” can be used to contract pretty much any negative form of be and have.

For example:

I am not happy. = I ain’t happy.

He isn’t waiting for me. = He ain’t waiting for me.

I haven’t got a dog. = I ain’t got a dog.

It hasn’t happened. = It ain’t happened.

Note:

Since ain’t is a slang word, in many cases it can be used with negative “no” despite the rule that there can’t be to negative forms in one sentence.

There isn’t any time. = There ain’t no time.

We haven’t got any suger. = We ain’t got no sugar.

И я уверена, что вам всегда было интересно, что означает это "ain’t ". Это сленговый вариант огромного количества сокращений.
