GRAMMAR

Zero & First Conditionals
“If you never speak truth then you never know how love sounds”

Первая цитата – отличный пример zero conditional. Как вы помните, это самый простой вид условных предложений, используемый для того, чтобы говорить об общеизвестных фактах или ситуациях, которые никогда не изменяются. Вторая цитата – first conditional. Речь идет о ситуации, которая с большой вероятностью произойдет в будущем при определенных условиях.
Be bound to + infinitive
“And when you hate then you’re bound to get irate”
“Если вы ненавидите, вы обязательно станете разгневанным”
Конструкция be bound to указывает на то, что что-то обязательно должно произойти. Это еще одна конструкция, которую можем использовать, говоря о будущем.
Passive Voice
“Wrong information was shown by the media”

Subject Questions
“What happened to the love and the values of humanity?

Что произошло с любовью, справедливостью и равенством?”
Subject questions, вопросы к подлежащему, имеют грамматическую особенность – они не требуют вспомогательного глагола. Поэтому будьте внимательны, ищите в предложении subject и не забудьте, что «what did happen to the love» – это ошибка.
Reported Questions
“My mama asked me why I never vote”
“Моя мама спросила меня, почему я никогда не голосую”
Когда мы хотим процитировать чей-то вопрос, мы создаем reported question. Собственно, главное, что нужно помнить – в данном типе вопросов мы обязательно ставим слова в правильном порядке (subject – verb - object). Если посмотреть на наш пример, вы увидите, что оригинальный вопрос "Why do you never vote?" превратилось в утвердительное предложение «…why I never vote».

- Preach (verb) - to talk about a religious subject at a religious meeting, especially in church – проповедовать
- Get along - if people get along, they like each other and are friendly to each other – ладить
- Guidance - advice about what you should do or how you should behave – руководство, управление
- Irate - very angry – разгневанный
- Set something straight - to figure out and correct something – выяснять, исправлять
- Ongoing - still happening or being done – непрерывный, продолженный
- Knock down - to hit someone with a vehicle so that they are injured or killed – сбить, сносить
- Common ground - something that people can agree about, especially when they disagree about other things – общее основание
- Dope - an illegal drug, especially cannabis – наркотик

#WHERESTHELOVE” is a modern transformation of The Black Eyed Peas' 2003 hit “Where’s The Love?” The 2016 update addresses various social justice issues such as the protest of unnecessary violence, police brutality and discrimination based on race (including refugee and immigration issues), gender and religious beliefs across the world. The original version addressed many issues following the 9/11 terrorist attacks in 2001, including terrorism, racism, war and intolerance.
