-  Father, believe me, I won’t do that! -  Jack didn’t want to cry, but tears were already in his eyes.

-  Sonny, I will repeat it to you as many times as necessary: you WILL go to the Economic College. It is the most prestigious one in the whole country and after studying there you will surely become a successful businessman. – the father said for the hundredth time.

-  But I don’t want to merchandise. I am not an entrepreneur in my soul. I like biology, I want to preserve nature…

-  Ha, don’t make me laugh, Jack. My son – a biologist? It is the most foolish thing I’ve ever heard, it is even stupider than if somebody from my board of directors began to sing serenades under his wife’s window. But they will never do it! They are all sensible and far from romance. I look after their sensibility myself. You see, sonny, - George’s voice grew milder, - at your age I also knew nothing about INCO-terms, interest rates and invoices. But look at me now: I am the biggest bookseller in the state. Every day I sign hundreds of letters of intent. And all my deals, I should confess, are very payable. Every single day I negotiate with more than fifty legal entities and more than one hundred physical parties. Thousand of people in the city have jobs as members of my company’s personnel. By the way, - George proudly cocked his eye, - it was I who initiated the merger with that bothersome company…“A world of wonders”, perhaps…always forget the names, but all the same, they never appear to be important.

-  Those who organize readings for children and give books to poor families free of charge?! - gasped Jack.

-  I don’t care about what they do. They are our competition and they should be destroyed: it will be a complete take-over. Don’t look at me with reproach, Jack: it’s just business, nothing personal.

-  Father, I just see that your single-minded focus on the revenue of your company has almost killed your internal self!

-  Stuff and nonsense! It’s high time you understood, son: there exists nothing hidden, internal and supernatural. All this is written only in books and we are lucky enough to make money out of it. Everything can be explained, even thoughts were discovered to be simple waves like those in the radio.

-  Father, don’t oversimplify. Each human on the Earth has a great inner world where high values live, striving for the good and eternal love…

George looked bewildered - You believe in eternal love? How stupid!

-  Oh, daddy! When you understand you are wrong it can be too late! – Jack jumped up. – I feel that your business is killing you! Don’t you understand that your true business is your family? Money can quickly come and quickly go, but family ties are worth more than billions of dollars… Because they are eternal, because they are built upon love. Save them, father, save your business before it is too late!

-  Sonny, - George was touched, but pretended to be stern. – Sonny, I see, you’re not well. Go to your room and relax. Tomorrow we will continue our business communication.

Jack gave a long sigh and left the room.
